We are Mike and Jo Coad and we caught the genealogy bug more years ago than we care to remember. Our love (some would say 'addiction') for family history has never waned and we are as enthusiastic today as we were on day one.
It is for this reason that we decided to set up 'The Family Historians'.
Most of our clients lead busy lives themselves and do not have the time to spend on researching their own family history......for, make no mistake, genealogical research is very time consuming if carried out properly. That is where we come in. We believe that with our cumulative research experience of more than 20 years, we are able to offer you a professional, reliable and affordable service for all your genealogical needs.
No research project is too small or too large. We are happy to carry out any task from photographing a headstone to compiling a full family history.

We will conduct our research into your family history as if it were our own family. The buzz we get from discovering each new fact about our clients ancestors past is the same as if we were discovering our own ancestors for the first time.
Before commencing any research, we will ensure that we have understood your specific requirements exactly and that we have communicated to you the likelihood of success.
We visit 'The National Archives' at Kew on a weekly basis and also spend at least one day a week at other London repositories such as the Society of Genealogists' Library, London Metropolitan Archives and the British Library Newspaper collection at Colindale. We regularly visit County Record Offices in the Home Counties but can just as easily visit those in other parts of the country if required.
As stated above, research can be time consuming but we fully realise how eager you will be to discover the results of our research. In this respect, we guarantee to commence researching your family tree as soon as you give us the go ahead and we will provide you with regular updates as required.
